Sandra, I think this is great!!! This blog will come in handy over the summer.
ReplyDeleteGreat idea! Many of us have the same questions and will be able to interact with each other/share ideas with each other all in one place!
ReplyDeleteI'm on.
ReplyDeleteI'm here too!
ReplyDeleteGreetings, fellow bloggers!
ReplyDeleteWorking from my Mac will try from tablet
ReplyDeleteHey all,
ReplyDeleteI am on the blog!
Hey Sandra,
ReplyDeleteI have reset my clock on my tablet several times. It seems as though it automatically resets anytime it wants. Is there an image glitch that will fix this?
DAT
How can I import my contacts fr Kerio to Goggle?
ReplyDeleteThx
Third attempt. Will it show??
ReplyDeleteCharlene was here!!
ReplyDeleteWill John and his crew be at STM tomorrow and/or Friday to help with basic computer questions?
ReplyDeleteDavid - the time is controlled by the server. My time is correct but I reported the problem to our network guy. He said the time on the server is correct. We are looking into the issue.
ReplyDeleteStephen - Kerio doesn't have a quick fix for contact exporting. I played with it and came up with a relatively painless method. I can come up with a TechByte for those interested. Anybody else interested?
ReplyDeleteCosi - I'm not sure about John. Kurt (the networker) and I think the crew of helpdesk students should be there. Come by the library and one of us can help you.
ReplyDeleteThe scanner in the library would be great for scanning some of your documents. We can guide you with that task tomorrow.
Thanks Sandra.
ReplyDeleteOK...here goes...
ReplyDeleteSandra, Were you able to find someone to come by on Thursday or Friday to give another tutorial on Moodle? The Fine Arts Department is having a will be there from 9-12 on both days.
David - Kurt asks if you see the Scriptlogic splash screen when you login.
ReplyDeleteHey gang - several of you spent a lot of time with Kathy last Friday in advanced Moodle training. The Fine Arts department is meeting this Thurs and Fri from 9-12 and would like to cap into your newfound knowledge. Can anyone help them out?
ReplyDeleteTest
ReplyDeleteGood idea! Isn't technology wonderful?
ReplyDeleteJust played around with Google Forms and created a form for AR sign up. I put the template in the STM gallery, so check it out English friends.
ReplyDeleteSandra,
ReplyDeleteWe went through the gmail instructions that you sent to us about forwarding old emails to our new gmail account. The screens look different than the screens on your instructions. We do not have a tab called Accounts and Imports. Ours just says Accounts.....help
accidently got here
ReplyDeleteI'm here!!
ReplyDeleteI'm here???
ReplyDeleteThanks, Sandra; I'm so glad it all worked out. Your instructions were perfect...
ReplyDeleteSandra,
ReplyDeleteI use outlook with my old email. Can I do the same with the gmail account? I would also like to import my contacts.
Sandra, worked fine when I copied the link into Firefox
ReplyDeleteHey, Sandra. Finally signed in to the blog. Great idea. Thanks. Working fine through safari on my Mac. WIll try firefox on tablet soon.
ReplyDeleteHi Sandra, Struggled at first but made it with Firefox! Thank you for doing this! I would like to learn more about the "cloud" discussion you and Mike were having today. I think we are surviving through all this stuff! Yeah!
ReplyDeleteInternet explorer is terrible for this. I almost wanted to throw something because the instructions would not comply. I was wondering if anyone knew how to use the new movie maker program on the Fujitsu Lab tops. I used Movie Maker from Microsoft Office 2005 last year for a project and the 2007 version was more difficult to use. The new program looks very similar to the 2005 version. If anyone would be willing to meet to discuss I would appreciate it. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI waz here. I am also interested in getting my contacts moved over from my old email account.
ReplyDeleteSandra...Sheila is with me right now frustrated that she cannot log in to gmail or moodle. She was logged in as Margaret Waits and when she tried to log in as her name, she could not get in. Please email her at sheilaringuet@yahoo.com
ReplyDeleteYes! Third time's the charm. Firefox was the answer.
ReplyDeleteHello!
ReplyDeleteI am in!
ReplyDeleteHappy weekend to all:)
ReplyDeleteFYI: All the instructions I send out to the faculty are created on the Fujitsu tablet. If you are trying to follow from your own desktop or laptop computer with a different version of Windows/Microsoft etc., your options may look a little different.
ReplyDeleteKim - that is probably why your gmail options looked differently.
Christy - follow this link for helpful instructions to exporting your contacts to gmail.
ReplyDeletehttp://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook-help/export-outlook-contacts-to-google-gmail-HA001148902.aspx
Shelia - Did your email issue get resolved? I tried emailing to your yahoo account and it bounced back. Try restarting your computer and if your email still doesn't work, come by Monday (or post to the blog) and I will reset your password.
ReplyDeleteChad - sorry for the frustration - I didn't anticipate the problem because I always use Firefox. Glad you didn't throw the tablet. :)
ReplyDeleteShane and Stephen - I've been researching an easy-breezy way to export contacts from Kerio but haven't found one. i even searched all the Kerio help blogs. This is what I did:
ReplyDelete(1) Create a contacts subfolder and move the contacts you still want into it (I have millions of old contacts from distribution lists and stuff over the year that I no longer needed).
(2) Select all the contacts (click 1st one + shift + click last one).
(3) Right click and forward to your new gmail account
(4) Open the email in email and "Download all".
(5) In the downloads folder "Extract all."
(6) Import the contacts into gmail (I couldn't find a way to do them all at one time - I had to do them one-by-one).
If you find an easier way, please share. Hope this helps.
Got in first try! I use Firefox at home too. It was not a prob on tablet. What's the best way to clean the screen? I hate smudges, etc.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, the time showing on my post in incorrect; however, my tablet time is showing the correct time. That's weird. I did have to reset the time on the tablet..it took several tries, but it's showing the correct time. Wonder why the blog post time is off...Sandra?
ReplyDeleteSome cleaning towels were in the accessory box and those should help to clean the screen. If you didn't get any the helpdesk students should be able to help you. However, they are going to BR this week to learn from the SJA student tablet rollout.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure about the post time. I see that you are correct. I posted last night much later than showing. I'll research it.
Thanks for joining. See Jill's post above about AR form.
Hey gang - our helpdesk students are chomping at the bit to get started. When I am at school, they are constantly trying to be helpful. I am considering letting them join the blog. Allowing them to help find solutions to little issues is good experience. During the year they could also step up and volunteer to help teachers personally. Please share your thoughts (esp if you disagree).
ReplyDeleteI did it! My first blog! Thanks Sandra, this is awesome!
ReplyDeleteSandra,
ReplyDeleteI stopped by school on Friday and got some help. All is well. I just thought it was a little funny. Thanks for everything you do.
I am using Lynda.com and love it. I know that we are planning to use Grade Quick for posting our grades but do we set up grades in moodle? I am guessing that we do if we are going to have our tests graded by moodle. I know that we have old class lists but I was wondering if I should watch these movies for grades set up.
ReplyDeleteThanks.
We will NOT be doing grades at all in Moodle this year. We are trying to tiptoe into it, master the management component before diving into the grading portion. Also the Moodle grade system isn't playing nicely with our school administrative program. We won't change until we can do it safely and correctly.
ReplyDeleteThank you Sandra. You are awesome!
ReplyDeleteHere
ReplyDeleteSandra, will some of the help-desk crew be at school or are they all in B.R.?
ReplyDeleteThey are in BR this week.
ReplyDeleteLola is here.
ReplyDeleteSharon Guillory is in the blog.
ReplyDeleteMoodle is not just for classes. I can create a "course" for your club, organization, athletic team, etc. If you would like a course for your group so you can share information with them, please email me the name of the club or team. Also let me know who the administrator of that course should be. For example, I have already created a course for campus ministry and all the campus ministers have permission to post.
ReplyDeleteLindsay's "blogging"!!!!
ReplyDeleteI tried watching the Moodle videos on the Moodles commons page that Sandra emailed to us, but the videos will not load on my computer.
ReplyDeleteAm I doing something wrong?
Sandra is there a way to organize these blog posts in my view? Would like most recent to show first or group conversations by topics
ReplyDeleteBarb is in. Can't get to Moodle page today. Is something wrong with it or with me?
ReplyDeleteMoodle seems to be down externally but working on campus. Network guy is working on it as we speak. Sit tight everyone.
ReplyDeleteHey
ReplyDeletedo you know of an easy breezy way to export stuff(documents etc.) from edline to moodle
Big John from BR was gonna find out and let Sandra know?

ReplyDeleteCongratulations Kelly!!
ReplyDeleteMary C... not to be confused with Mary Carolyn/ M.C. :) Thanks for all you do, Sandra!
